The prompt was: write about someone who inspires you. Everything is as it appears on the paper.

Ms. _____ teaches me how to be a better person because my teacher Ms. _______ is inspiring to me she want's me to susseced in life to follow my dreams.
What I mean she want me to succed she want me to college, in be an indepentant woman until then. When I told her I wanted to be a basketball player in the WNBA, she told me to follow my dreams in a positive way. When I get interviewed I would put her in the spotlight to show my inspiration about her.
When I say she wond me to finish everything, that I want to finish in life change my act, graduate from 8th grade then go to high school. pass everything because it is not hard. Just let my life follow my dreams, study, go to tutoring everyday That is what I need to do to pass, to graduate from high school.
When I say do what I want, when I want, when I grow up. Is don't let a person take over my body, don't let no body do what I don't want to do. Do what I like and want to do. I say I want to
grow up like her, but not a teacher. I would make them do punishment every day all day just to be indepentant.
In conclusion I want to grow up just like her, be nice, be kind, everything insept a teacher.

What a morning.
Z looked at me with horror in his eyes this morning. He had just opened his bag, and spent about two minutes looking down at his bag, back at me, at the bag, at me... finally I went over and asked what was up.
"Look," he said, almost a whisper.
So I looked. There was a bag in his bookbag, on top of his books. "What is it?" I asked.
"My granddaddy's gun bag."
"Why is it in your bag?" I was trying to stay calm.
"I don't know." He was trying not to panic. "I did my homework last night. I put my books in my bag. It wasn't there then."
"What's usually in it?"
"His gun."
"What's in it now?"
"I don't know. I didn't mean to. I didn't know..."
"Okay," I said, reaching for the bag, "let's just check it out. I opened it. SLOWLY. Just a holster. Empty. I breathed a sigh of relief-- the bag was turned over to the AP, and life continued. But a little more shakily than before.

YES, we can.
In a million years, I didn't expect to have this reaction to the election. I knew how I felt about Obama, knew how I voted, knew what my inner hopes were.
I didn't know that what I would feel was a sense of peace I haven't experienced for a long time. I go to school every day, I look these kids in the eyes, and I tell them every day that they can do anything they want to do, they can be anything they want to be. I have always believed it, personally, but I think I have had my doubts about the world. I think I have wondered, silently, with my inner voice, whether the world can really be blind but to the qualifications of the individual. I too have wondered "when will I be satisfied".
I am not satisfied, but I am at peace, because the world has restored my hope. I can look them in the eyes, and not only say what I believe, but know that they believe it too, that the world spoke on not the color of a man, but the qualifications, the content of his character.
We ran a mock election at my school, and there are pictures I would include if I could do so without jeopardizing their anonymity, but trust when I say that my heart was full when I left school. We CAN change the world-- one step at a time, one day at a time, shattering one misconception at a time. I believe. YES, WE CAN.
